Waterhousea ‘Weeping Lilly Pilly’  Waterhousea floribunda

Native | Full sun / part shade | H 10m if grown to a tree |  W 8m |

A medium to large evergreen tree with a dense canopy of weeping foliage but ideal as a hedge.  Long, dark green, glossy leaves turn red before dropping. A few red leaves are always visible; large clusters of white flowers in summer form round, greenish-white berries with a pink tinge.

Category / uses:  a good specimen tree or shade tree for suburban gardens and parklands. Great as a hedge.

Position / planting / care:  grow in warm, sunny to partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. Withstands full sun and light frost in cool climates. Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into the hole so the soil level is the same size as the surrounding ground. Fill hole firmly and water in well even if the soil is moist. Water after planting until established. Clip regularly if hedge or shaping is required. Mulch well. Keep well watered during warm weather.
