A self-pollinating, fast growing deciduous fruit tree that is a reliable and heavy cropper with a vigorous spreading habit. During summer /autumn it bears  squat, pear-shaped, purple skinned fruit with a dark-red very rich sweet flesh. Figs are great for making jams, drying, in pies and slices or eaten fresh. Produces fruit in 2 – 3 years, often 2 crops per season.

Category / Uses: lovely specimen and food tree; can produce two crops per year.

Position / planting / care : prefers a sunny position, protected from strong winds, in well drained soil; keep soil moist but not wet. Cultivate soil before planting. Dig hole twice the width of the container. Remove plant from container and place into hole so the soil level is the same as the surrounding ground. Trim back annually to keep compact. Can be grown in a pot.
